The North Bay Warriors of Hope Dragon Boat Team competed at the Concord Pacific Dragon Boat Festival June 24-26, 2022 – Paddlers Abreast Canada Breast Cancer Survivors (BCS) Division, taking the gold medal in the A Division Final.

The team was ranked first after the qualifying rounds on Saturday and held on to the top spot for the entire competition. The BCS Division consisted of 19 teams from across Canada.

The team’s winning time was 2:25 – a record for the team at 500 m.

This is the first competition for the Warriors in over 2 years due to the pandemic. But they have continued practicing twice a week on Trout Lake during that time to stay sharp.
